Still Going Strong

Posted by

Time flies when you're roasting coffee! Drinking coffee, blending coffee, bagging coffee, delivering coffee to local businesses. Needless to say we've been staying busy getting coffee from farms around the world into cups here in Albuquerque. A few updates:

Prosum is 2 years old: On August 1st we celebrated our 2 year anniversary here at the roastery with free bagels.Thank you so much to all our customers for all your support and passion for great coffee.

We have a new Ethiopian bean: From the Hararr growing region. Lightly roasted it has hints of berry and cinnamon.

We are getting more Ethiopian: From the Sidamo growing region, Cindy visited the village of Kellensoo in 2014 and this coffee has been a staple at Prosum from the beginning. We just purchased our first container and it will be available this fall/winter.

New Espresso Blend: Black Sheep Espresso is not only an espresso blend, as the darkest roast we offer at Prosum it makes a great drip coffee as well as a delicious cold brew.

Cindy's trip to Brazil: Cindy is abroad right now to visiting farms in Brazil, tasting coffee looking for something new and interesting, hoping to purchase a micro lot and expanding our offerings of specialty coffee here at Prosum.

Education, Classes and Workshops: We are currently putting together some curricula for different opportunities to connect our passion for coffee to yours, whether its home roasting, honing your skills as a barista, or just learning about the coffee industry, stay tuned for more information on upcoming events. We currently still host free coffee tastings every Friday evening starting at 6:30.

We got a food truck: The Espresso Machine, is a full service espresso/coffee bar, and will be offering pastries from one of our favorite local bakers NOSH. We're planning to do some events this fall as well as serving areas around town where coffee offerings are limited. Keep an eye out on facebook and instagram @espressomachineabq to see where we will be.

New to the Prosum family: With the addition of The Espresso Machine and a growing demand for specialty coffee here in Albuquerque, we've added a few new members to our team to help out. We're also supplying to local businesses including Elaine's in Nob Hill, It's a Sweet Life Cafe in Socorro, and Skarsgard Farms, for all you CSA members.

There is a lot happening right now at Prosum, and we want to keep you up to date. Check our blog, follow us on social media, keep an eye out for our monthly e-mail, or just come by the shop and say hello.
